How We Upgraded Our Airbnb Bedrooms (and the Amazon Finds That Made It Easy)
One of the most important spaces in any short-term rental is the bedroom. Guests may enjoy the kitchen or lounge in the living room, but at the end of the day, what they’ll remember most is how well they slept.
Since my husband and I don’t live in the same city (or state!) as our Airbnb, we visit every few months to refresh and upgrade the space. Bedrooms are always a top priority during these visits—we go through the linens, toss anything stained or worn, and update bedding when needed. On our most recent trip, we focused on upgrading both the master and guest bedrooms.
The difference? Night and day. With just a few affordable Amazon finds, the bedrooms feel fresh, cozy, and hotel-worthy.

Why Bedding Matters for Airbnb Bedrooms
Crisp, clean, and inviting bedding is one of the simplest ways to impress guests. Unlike furniture, bedding gets heavy daily use and shows wear quickly. That’s why I always:
- Replace sheets and pillowcases regularly.
- Keep backup sets on hand so the cleaning crew can make quick turnovers.
- Layer bedding with a quilt + blanket combo for comfort and versatility. (Don’t go too crazy with the layers though, remember you’ll be turning over the bedding frequently! More layers = more laundry!)
This time, I swapped in new quilts, a textured blanket, and fresh sheets, plus updated throw pillows for that styled, designer look.
Master Bedroom Refresh
🛏️ Master Bedroom Quilt
We upgraded to a lightweight quilt that feels soft and breathable, perfect for year-round comfort. It gives the bed a clean, polished look without being too bulky. Guests can easily layer it with blankets depending on the season.
🛏️ Waffle Weave Blanket
This waffle weave blanket quickly became one of my favorite Amazon finds. The texture adds depth to the bed styling, while the weight is just right—light but cozy. It’s great for layering and looks high-end without the price tag.
Guest Bedroom Refresh
🛏️ Guest Bedroom Quilt
Our guest room got a fresh update with a new quilt set. It’s durable enough for frequent washes (a must for Airbnb!) but still soft and welcoming. The neutral color makes it easy to pair with different throws or accent pillows.
🛏️ Queen Sheet Set
Nothing beats the feel of crisp new sheets. This set is breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and budget-friendly—perfect for stocking multiple bedrooms. I always keep at least two sets per bed so our cleaners can switch them out seamlessly.
Finishing Touches: Throw Pillows
🛏️ Euro Sham Pillow Inserts
A styled bed instantly looks more inviting with a few oversized pillows. I used these Euro sham inserts to give the beds that plush, hotel-like appearance.
🛏️ Throw Pillow Covers
To finish the look, I swapped in fresh throw pillow covers. They’re inexpensive to change out between seasons (or when older ones start looking worn) and add personality to the space without much effort.
Before and After: Small Changes, Big Impact
When we first walked into the bedrooms, they looked fine—but not “guest-ready.” The quilts had lost their shape, a few pillows were stained and sagging, and the sheets had seen better days. After layering in the new Amazon bedding and adding those finishing touches, the rooms instantly felt brighter, fresher, and more put together.
We also added in a lamp for extra light & warmth, and added nightstands on each side of the bed.
This is the kind of detail that guests notice, even if they can’t quite put their finger on why the room feels so comfortable.
