Elevate Your Photo Gallery Wall with Picture Lights
I hemmed and hawed for months on how to best display our wedding photos. I wanted to include them in the living room in a way that felt intentional and elevated—not just frames on a wall. After searching for awhile, I realized I was gravitating towards the look of a gallery wall with large mat picture frames. I created a gallery wall with six of our favorite wedding portraits, but something still felt missing. The frames looked beautiful, but the wall didn’t have that wow factor I was envisioning.
Enter: gallery wall lights.
I found this 3-Pack of Picture Lights on Amazon and added them above our gallery wall. The difference was incredible—suddenly, our wedding photos went from looking nice to looking like they belonged in an art gallery.

Why I Chose These Picture Lights
Once I settled on adding picture lights to the gallery wall, my research began to find the best option. There are lots of picture light options out there, but these checked all the boxes for me:
- Cordless & Rechargeable → No messy wires! Each light is battery-operated and comes with a built-in 5000mAh rechargeable battery.
- Remote Controlled → I can adjust brightness, set a timer, or turn them on/off without even leaving the couch.
- Dimmable Lighting → Sometimes I want a soft glow for cozy evenings, and other times I want the photos really highlighted when guests come over.
- Sleek Black Finish → The modern black design looks elegant and blends seamlessly with our black picture frames.
- Value Pack → The set comes with three lights, which was perfect for my gallery wall of six frames (I placed one above every two photos).
How I Installed Them Above My Gallery Wall
Installation was refreshingly simple—no electrician needed!
- I measured the spacing of my six wedding photos and centered each light above two frames.
- Using the included mounting kit, I secured each light to the wall.
- Once mounted, I adjusted the angle of each light so it evenly illuminated the photos below.
- Charged the batteries and used the remote to test out brightness levels.
It took less than an hour to completely transform the gallery wall.
The Before and After
Before adding lights, our gallery wall was pretty, but it blended into the rest of the room. At night, the photos looked especially flat.
After adding the lights? Instant drama. The photos are now a true focal point. Friends and family who visit always comment on how elegant the display looks—and I love that it highlights such meaningful memories from our wedding day.

Where Else You Can Use These Lights
While I used them for our wedding gallery wall, these lights are versatile enough for:
- Highlighting a single statement piece of art
- Adding drama above a fireplace mantle
- Lighting up a bookshelf or dartboard
- Bringing focus to family portraits in a hallway
Anywhere you want that museum-quality glow, these are a quick and affordable solution.
Final Thoughts
Sometimes, it’s the small upgrades that make the biggest impact. These picture lights turned our wedding gallery wall into something that feels special, elevated, and timeless.
Also, as someone who doesn’t love to turn on the overhead fluorescent lighting, these are also a great way to add low lighting to the room!
If you’re looking for an easy way to upgrade your home décor, I can’t recommend these enough.
