The Exact Bedding I Use for a Cozy Look

I honestly didn’t realize how sad and outdated the bedding looked in our master bedroom until we moved into our new place. With the new decor, our old comforter looked flat and boring. It definitely did not provide the cozy, luxurious hotel-style feel I craved. But, I truly had no idea where to start when it came to elevating my bedding. I was overwhelmed by the color, texture, and pattern options. And, I didn’t even know the essential layers, let alone where to shop for them!

Luckily, I’ve now learned, and I’m happy to share (check out my post Making and Styling Your Bed, Made Simple). But, trust me, it took a lot of trial, error, and deep-dive research to get to this point. So if you’re in the same boat, this post is for you.

Here are the exact pieces I use in our primary bedroom and how each one adds to the cozy, layered look:

1. The Buffy Set: Cloud Comforter, Breeze Duvet Cover, Breeze Sheet Set, and Cloud Pillows (all in white)

Buffy is one of those brands that consistently earns rave reviews—and for good reason. Their products are made from eco-friendly, breathable materials that truly live up to the hype. Buffy is not extraordinarily expensive, but it is on the pricier side, so I opted for The Buffy Set to maximize value. This set includes:

  • Cloud Comforter: Known for its fluffy, cloud-like feel, it’s made from recycled plastic bottles and filled with a soft, breathable down-alternative.
  • Breeze Duvet Cover & Sheet Set: Made with eucalyptus fiber, these are naturally cool to the touch and moisture-wicking—perfect for hot sleepers or warm climates. It’s also great for those with sensitive skin (like my husband, who is easily irritated by cotton!)
  • Cloud Pillows: Super plush and supportive, these pillows hold their shape and are hypoallergenic.

In our master, I opted for all-white bedding to recreate that clean, hotel-inspired look. It makes the room feel fresh, bright, and serene.

2. Quince European Linen Box Quilt & Euro Shams in Sand

Quince has gained a huge following for offering premium-quality basics at surprisingly affordable prices. They work directly with manufacturers to keep costs low without sacrificing craftsmanship.

  • European Linen Box Quilt: Made from 100% European flax, this quilt adds a breathable layer and a relaxed, lived-in texture that complements the smoothness of the white bedding.
  • Euro Shams in Sand: The sandy beige tone brings in warmth and contrast while still keeping the overall palette neutral and calming. I paired these shams with Pillowflex 26 x 26″ Euro Down Alternative Pillow Inserts from Amazon.

I layered this quilt at the foot of the bed for that styled, high-end look.

3. Woven Nook 20 x 20″ Pillow Covers in Dove

Woven Nook is my go-to for pillow covers that feel designer, but don’t come with the designer price tag. Their collections are full of trendy, yet timeless patterns in earthy tones.

  • The Dove pattern boasts a detailed cream floral design with soft, vintage appeal. The subtle pattern adds just enough visual interest without feeling too bold or busy.

Paired with 22 x 22″ Pillowflex inserts, these pillows give that full, plush look I was going for.

4. Pottery Barn Waffle Weave Blanket in Natural

This blanket is a cult favorite for a reason. I absolutely love the texture it adds.

  • The Natural color is a warm neutral that plays nicely with the sand and dove tones.
  • The waffle weave texture adds a subtle contrast to the linen and smooth cotton layers, giving the bed depth and dimension.

I usually fold the blanket neatly at the foot of the bed for a more tailored look, but you can also drape it casually over the quilt as well.

Final Thoughts

Upgrading your bedding doesn’t have to mean a full overhaul or spending a fortune. For me, it was about being intentional with color, texture, and quality—and investing in layers that make the space feel serene, inviting, and a little luxurious.
